Cheers to the happier bride -to -be!

To all the brides-to-be out there, it’s good to learn from our mistakes but don’t you think it’s smarter to learn from others? Yes, I’m going to share a few of my personal experience as well as from what I’ve heard from people.

Don’t allow our expectations to master us- all of us, dream of a fairy tale wedding. I totally get it, because that thought would have been sowed since our college or even school days. Especially, with all the increased promotions and hype given to photography, make-up, costumes, decor and what not – I’m sure our thoughts are watered well and we end up looking for the best. How do we decide what’s best? The more expensive it is, the better is the quality – this is a myth. At that hour, we easily get carried by the numbers which by the time we realize is high, would be too late. Setting high expectations don’t always have to burn a hole in your dad’s pocket. Doing a proper background check and more enquiries will help us find the best yet at an affordable price.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder

Do not stress too much about looks. Of course, staying hydrated, intermittent facials, eating healthy food with minimal exercise is great and will undoubtedly, boost your confidence. Apart from these, choosing any facial treatment or weight loss programs just a few months before the wedding would be the wrong choice. This would indirectly cause a stressful mindset when you’re actually supposed to enjoy the intricates of the wedding planning.

Big NO to parents talksTamil_wedding_photographers

No matter whether we chose the guy or the parents did – stay away from any discussions. If we start taking up the ownership for the discussions, we will end up being overloaded. Let’s believe everyone has a good intention behind things that they do. On a serious note, if things are way too much and needs your intervention – make sure you involve the groom into the picture. 😉

Long gap between the engagement and wedding date?

Minimize the phone conversations with in-laws regarding our views, thinking that we’re being genuine – by the time we realize we shouldn’t have, things would have gone out of the league. No offense to them, it’s just better this way which will avoid contretemps. Let’s try expressing to our parents or at the least case, few compromises are worth it.

Celebrate the attention

We’re on the spotlight. Embrace it completely. It would be even more graceful if we can make the one’s pampering us feel more loved. Like, spa with mom, long drives with dad, weekend getaway with your squad, guilty pleasures and make sure to create a lot more memories to be cherished.

Goodwill

May the celebration be extended little more. Let this be a festival not just your family and friends but for others as well. Skip a date and spend that money for people who are in need of, give away saplings as return gifts, plastic-free wedding – the creativity is left to you.

Future brides… Bring the happiness from within and around you. Celebrate these special times in your own special way.
