What plays on in Groom s Mind!
Marriages have always been about the relationship between two beautiful souls – the bride and the groom. There are many things which come to our mind when we think about the bride – her mental preparation for the big day, scenes of her shopping around the city, the makeup, her smile and what not. What about the groom? Let’s take a deep dive into the groom’s mind to find out what he goes through during the big day!
Just before the marriage or the reception, when it’s time to look at the mirror to make sure he looks good is where it all starts. A beautician hired by his mother reports exactly on time and it’s a fun time for his sibling or friend as he sits to cooperate with the beautician. The beautician and the dear ones accompanying him at the moment give their own ideas of grooming his hair, beard, and moustache which never matches with his own idea. After a few rounds of arguments, the groom either convinces or gets convinced on what suits him the best. In the end, he thinks “All I need is a face wash and a comb to get ready. Why complicate stuff?”
It’s time to make a dashing entry to the venue. The groom is also heartily welcomed by his in-laws. Now what? Panic attack after looking at the crowd of 200 – 300 people. No!!! The crowd is something expected but the stage and the group of photographers leaves him thinking “Oh my god!! I’m not used to being in the limelight. Is it possible to survive here for 3 – 4 hours more?”. The bride looks at him, understands his concern and winks saying “Hey! Let’s pull this off together” lightening up his mood. Wedding receptions are likely to have a band playing light music which sets a romantic tone to the event. The groom looks at her and is amazed by the way she looks. Indian weddings are known for their variety of bridal dresses. Guess what’s going on in his mind now? Waiting at the store as she shops? Definitely yes. “I think I should meet my boss regarding appraisal in order to afford her clothing requirements.” After looking at her smile, “You’re being stupid. She’s just beautiful”.
An hour into the ceremony, after greeting people and posing to the photographers many times, a naughty group plays a nice song that suits the couple, jumps into the stage and requests them to dance. “What?? I’ve never danced in my life. Not even inside a locked room” he thinks and looks at the bride who has already started to dance. Even though the groom was least prepared for this moment, he dances with her as the crowd cheers for them. “This is the right moment. Just do it” Surprise! As he kneels down in front of her with a ring as the band plays her favorite song and everybody knew they are going to cherish this moment forever.
Towards the end of the reception night, an eager group of wedding photographers gets ready for a photo shoot. Is the couple ready? Has it not been a long day? No, because it’s the day that they’ve been waiting for. More beautiful moments were captured as he thought “Darling you’re mine” and she knew it.
